Matthew Rompa aka Hweydo, was born in Poland where he currently lives and works. He started painting when he was 11 years old after finding his grandpa's paint catalogs and was inspired by Polish painter, Zygmunt Magner. Matthew loves to travel, meet new people and learn about their culture. He tries to answer questions through art in an unusual way with a hint of mystery and ambiguity. He follows the art style of neoexpressionism and outsiderart (art brut) whilst trying to intrigue viewers. He often finds the beginning and even more often the end of the message contained in the picture. Matthew uses acrylic paints, oil pastels, markers and occasionally watercolour.
